Airaid setup installed...

I just installed an Airaid intake system on my 2008 V-10. Haven't had an opportunity to take it out and test it much, except for some around town stuff. Sure sounds bad ass and has to be taking in more air. What that will do in the end with all of the electronic fuel dispensing will have to be seen. It was a fairly easy install, a few tweeks is all. I'll keep you posted.

So Pappy, I hope you didn't install this set-up in an effort to compete with the power and economy of all the happy PSD owners.....because you know It doesn't matter what you do, what you add,....... it is still only a V-10 gasser........LOL!
Now that I have had a little fun at "our" expense, I would love to hear back once you get a few miles on the new system. I have had an Air Raid system on my past PSD's and the quality was good, installation was pretty much a breeze, as I recall only one band-aid needed. One of my train of thought was not buying it for the added power, but for the ability to clean rather than need to continue to puchase and replace the paper filter. I would like to know how the Air Raid system is compated to just doing a KN replacement filter.

Well, I did get a few miles on my V-10 beasty today as I had to go to Boise and pick up my grandson. On the way up Horseshoe Bend Hill (about 4 miles long), a new Dodge diesel tried to pass me, but I punched it and all he saw was tail lights getting further and further away. Sure sounds bad with all that air being sucked into 10 cylinders. I doubt it has helped my mileage any so far, but I may calm down if those "other" trucks will leave me alone.

I see where you are getting an F-550 with the V-10. Interesting. What gears did you get? Automatic or standard? What's the big difference between the '08 and 09's, if anything?

Pap

Pap
Main difference on the F550 for 09 is the availability of a new 15,000# rear axle & heavy duty frame "Payload upgade package". I ordered that, and most other Lariat options except the overpriced GPS. I have 4 gps units already. I also ordered it in the new Royal red, and Ebony (black) leather interior. Which are both new this year. I'm getting the standard 4.88 gears (no 4.30's for the V10 450-550's) with limited slip, automatic and 4X4. I think the Super cab/ 84" CA is new this year too. I had to have 84" ca for the heavy duty (12 ton boom & winches) tow body I'm getting

I have been trying to find a cold air intake system for my now 08 V10. What did you use? Could you provide a little more insight to how you did your instal and stuff? I am thinking I want to do a intake, chip/programmer, and a exaust. Havent found a exaust kit for the 08 yet either. Any suggestions there?
