Thumbs up Finally, A place For 2008 Gasser Owners.

I am happy to see that the DieselStop has added 2008 specific forums. I'm a newbie here but as a former Dodge diesel owner and current Superduty owner I've lurked for years. Thanks again DieselStop.

I like it too. I`m a former diesel owner and switched to a gasser. Was tired of paying 50 cents a gallon or more for diesel fuel and not getting much better mileage then a gas motor.

Yeah, well, I'm an old member, former 7.3 owner and new 2008 V-10'er, and I'm still used to the "old" TDS, so I will reserve judgement for a while. I DO love my new V-10 and would not go back to a diesel........at least until I feel comfortable doing so. Between the price of diesel compared to gasoline, price of maintenance between the two, and the fact that I don't tow a 5er or more than a boat or 4 wheelers, makes the V-10 a great choice for me. I have added a K&N drop-in air filter and a Diablo Sport Predator programmer, in the 91 octane medium performance tune, and my truck is a screamer. I get 11.5 mpg if I keep my foot out of it beating other brands including the new 6.4, which I can do. If you try a new V-10, you will like it.

Raced any Vipers lately, Pappy?
Somewhat lonely in here right now but if I were shopping right now I'd be looking at the V10 new or a cautiously good deal on a used 6.0. New diesels are wayyy expensive these days.

I think this is a good move for the site. There will be many making the move to the gassers.

I haven't ever raced a Viper; not too many of them here in Idaho or Utah as they aren't very practical in the snow. I haven't been embarassed yet, but expect I will someday. Actually this new V-10 is pretty impressive and for what I paid brand new, they are selling used 6.0's. No thanks, I'll keep my V-10. For any that are interested, send me a pm and I'll ship you a copy of my window sticker.

I like others have switched back to gas from diesel. I was going to announce my resignation but noticed that they added some new forums. Now we just need some pics posted. I would but we got about 3" of snow this morning so the truck is in no shape for a camera this morning. I will get some up soon though.

Glad to have a new V-10 owner join the ranks. I'll bet there will be alot more of us in the next couple of years. I don't know how long you have had yours, but I truly love mine and have 10k since September. Send some pics when your snow melts. We have over 3 feet on the ground here in Ogden, Utah. It's a regular winter. Where's all that global warming when you need it???

I would like to announce my official arrival to the gas forum as of today, 1 Feb 2008. Had to take a breather from the PSD for a couple of years and return to gas. I may experience some withdrawals, but with confidence I can say that I will easily get over it.........

Welcome to the gasser thread. You're going to love that new V-10 and the power it has, not to mention the quiet. You'll keep looking at the tach to see if it's still running. The only thing you'll get bugged about is the mileage, but don't worry, it gets better. Just remember that the gas is .30-50 cents cheaper, the oil changes will cost you about $30 and no fuel filter for 50k and then it's $6 to change it. You won't need to plug it in when the temp get under 20 degrees, no Stanadyne, no carrying extra fuel filters, no "O" rings, and no more worries about water in the fuel. I loved my diesel, but I REALLY love my new V-10, and I think you will too. Congratulations on a great choice. Post some pics when you get a chance.

Did you order your truck? If so how long did it take from the time you met with the dealer to the time the truck was delivered??
