For some reason, only the first sentence of my reply(of a paragraph) was posted. Weird. I said that this was in the heyday of the diesels (2001-2003) 7.3 Powerstroke. And I wasn't sure what it was today. It was crazy back then. I sold two diesel trucks to dealers for more than retail book price. Sorry I wasn't dissing the gasser.I actually switched a to Dodge/Cummins in 2004 due to the 6.0 debacle and didn't want any diesel when the EPA stepped in with the DPF emissions in 2007 .However I finally caved and bought a 2009 Ford 6.4,but wish I had kept my paid for Dodge Laramie 4x4 Cummins.
Yes,I am seeing about a 10 k difference in the gasser and diesel used value.
I've commonly seen the same thing on trucks with over 100K mi on them up for sale.
The difference in resale several years down the road easily pays for the diesel motor.
I still don't like the 6.0 diesels though.
I don't think you will see many takers of used 6.0's with more than 100k if they have a chance to get a V-10 with over 100k......that is if they are smart. Same thing with any of the new diesels with the "regen", $1200 sootbag and "remove my cab" to work on my engine, not to mention the huge difference in maintenance costs. You diesel dudes just keep talking to yourselves and you will wake up some day and look for a V-10.

Your mileage difference between the 4.10 and the 4.30 pulling a trailer would be insignificant and maybe even lower with the 4.10 as it would have less torque towing power, so you'd have to make it up with a heavier foot. I do like the 4.10 for all around use as I only tow a few times a year, but towing a 32' trailer, the 4.30 seems like the perfect ratio for you with the V-10. I will say that the newer V-10's have much more power and coupled with the newer Torque Shift transmission, there is a world of difference in performance and towing vs the pre-2005 V-10's.

I had a 08 6.4 truck. Fuel milage sucked compared to my 03 7.3 with full Banks kit. When diesel got to be $1 more a gallon than gas and I discovered I made a mistake buying a Supercab instead of a Crew cab I ordered a new 08 V-10. Another gas King Ranch. Only way to get this combo is order it. Was not towing much anymore. Gas truch gets 1 to 2 MPG less than the 6.4 did. Just bought a new 27 ft travel trailer. V10 pulls it OK but fuel mileage goes to hell. 7 to 8 MPG. Now I do tow 75MPH. V10 does not pull anywhere near as well as diesel but I am OK with it. Overall I like the gas truck better and wont lose any sleep worrying about owning it when the warranty is gone. Did not want to own 6.4 without warranty.
Have had large class A motorhomes with gas and diesel engines and would not even consider one with a gas engine again. But our pickups dont have big cats and cummins in them.
Well, all I can tell you is my experiences, in the real world. I have run into a few new ('08-09's) with Chevy's, Dodges and Ford 6.4's. the only one I have not whipped totally is a Ford 6.4, BUT, I was towing an empty 4-wheeler trailer and the 6.4 was empty. It was dead even from a stop light to whatever. All of the others were a solo situation and was up a bodatious hill and they didn't stand a chance. If you tow a bunch and want a gasser, better get a 4.30 or a 4.88, otherwise, the standard 4.10, which is what I have, will do you fine. All I know is that if I do ever have to work on my V-10, I won't need to lift the friggin cab to do it. Also, I haven't had the first regen incident and my maintenance costs are less than $29.95 every 4,000 miles. What about you diesel dudes??
