NICE LOOKING TRUCK. i wish they would have changed the wood accent to the metal look ones as for me it goes better with the black.
anyone know about the radiator size of the v10?? is it the same radiator as diesel or is it smaller? i am really on the fence here, even asked the dealer to hold my order until i decide. I am confident the v10 will do the job, but I think I will need the 4.30 gears to do it. then empty highway, i really do not see any better than 9 when going 75. i get just a tad better with my 450 right now, and the fuel costs more, but the power my truck has is real good. i have driven quite a few gas motor homes with the v10, and the power was acceptable for the size of the unit, mileage was bad.
i just don't want to get a truck that will get 5 pulling my load, and 9 highway with just ok power to save a little money.
The radiator is the same size (HUGE) but has a much thinner core, I think about 3/4" thick. I would order the 4.30 gears if you are towing heavy. Mine has the 4.88's, and my 03 has 4.88's too. I've had my 03 loaded to 20,000# (truck & load), and still had plenty of pulling power. The 3V engines have more power, so I'm confident that my new 09 should pull good too. I got 10 MPG on the highway with that 20,000 run.
Awesome looking truck...but what was wrong with your 6.0???

Awesome looking truck...but what was wrong with your 6.0???
Head gaskets
degas bottle
3 sets of injectors
hpop
EGR & oil cooler
3 alternators, 2 sets of batteries
3 serpentine belts
2 transmissions
Several different trips to the dealer for sensors, fuel leaks, ect. I'm sure there is more I don't remember right now. My 03 V10 backup truck has had 1 coil pack replaced during this time, costing me $80.00 to fix, The only engine related failure. The 6.0 has been in the shop too many times, and I don't want the huge repairs out of warranty.
This truck still overheats on warm days.
All of this was between 34K-80K miles. One trip to the dealer was $8900 if not under warranty. And after seeing all the 6.4 problems, and the fact that diesel fuel here is almost exactly double, it seems like the logical choice to go with the V10.
Wow I must of gotten a good one...But I worry sometimes when I get on her.

Very good looking truck. I'm sure you'll keep us updated on your impressions of the truck, likes/dislikes, etc. When will you finally get the truck? Seems like you've had to wait an awful long time.

Truck was ordered 7/30, built 10/9, delivered to upfitter on 11/5, should be done by 1/15, but who knows! I was originally expecting it by 12/1, but hopefully real soon. My 05 took over 5 months to order & upfit too.
You have the patience of Job. I waited three days to pick mine up after I made the deal and actually bailed out of an important meeting early to go pick up my truck.

I picked up the truck last night, been working it hard since, one call after another. It tows great, don't even know a car is there. It likes the fuel though! 3 tankfuls so far, each is better mpg that the tank before. It has been below zero down to -18 since I picked it up. What an improvement over my 05. LS
LS that is absolutely the nicest looking tow rig I have ever seen! My only question? Aren't you afraid to get back in her after hooking up some greasy car? With a truck that nice I sure would be!

It is a self loader, with the hook up done by remote control. It's rare to get greasy, and I dit get the black leather! Here are some pics right before I picked it up. It was dark out, so these were the only pics I was able to take.
