Why the lack of availibilty of exhaust & CAI for 08+ V10?

I have been looking at CAI's and Catback's for my 08 V10 CC SB 4x4, specifically K&N and Gibson respectively and neither have a setup for this truck.

Just wondering why that is, they seem to have them for everything else!

I would guess that the small number of V10 SD trucks sold along with 2010 likely being the last year the V10 is offered in a truck makes it a unprofitable proposition in their eyes.

The ones I have found list for the 5.4 and the 6.8. The stock air boxes of the v8 and v10 are the same from what I understand. With that being said, looking for v8 intake systems for 08 and newer is hard to find as well! I think EVERYONE is on the diesel kick and only focusing on those. However, Airaid does make the CAI for the V10.

I have an Airaid intake system on my 2008 and it was an easy install. I believe that the main reason for not seeing many or few, if any, exhaust systems for the newer V-10 is that all of the tests I have seen show no improvements in mileage or power. Therefor not many of us are paying $300+ for something that isn't going to improve engine efficiency. The intake is another matter and seems to be a good addition.I have added a Diablo Sport Predator programmer as well and have been using the "middle" setting for over 40k without any problems and really helped in performance.

I'm also looking for one for an 08'. Is the airaid just the filter and air box or does it include the tube? Just got rid of the 6.oh no, now whats wrong and went to the gasser. Pulling my 5th wheel and could use a little bit better mileage if possible.

Pappy...

Pappy,

What are the fuel requirements and towing limits for each of the three settings on your Diablo? Are the improvements from the tuner more in the shifting area, engine, or both in your opinion?

Thanks,

I felt an overall improvement in both shifting and in engine performance. In the "middle" setting, which is at a 91 octane, I have found that anywhere from 88-91 seems to work fine. The Airaid intake system comes with all necessary parts. Someone asked me if I had tried the "performance" 93 octane setting, but I have been running the "middle" for over 40k and I am very satisfied with it on that setting, so I have not changed it and don't plan to. for one thing, out here in the west, it's hard to find 93 octane, so I just left it like it was. For a total of $600 for both the intake and programmer, I believe it's worth every penny.

I found the best prices for both items here:
