I signed up for photobucket and uploaded my photos there. Then just copy the URL into a post.

1. Post the photo on the web. Your photos in the gallery on TheDieselStop meets that requirement.

2. Look at the photo. Click on the photo to enlarge it to normal size. Right-click on the photo and a pop-up window will open. Scroll down in that window and click on "properties"

3. In the properties window, hilite the URL with the mouse, then right-click the hilited URL and copy it to RAM. Note the URL ends in .jpg, a photo format.

4. Paste the URL into your post. Then enclose the URL in the image operand, which looks like the following except without the spaces:
[ img ] URL goes here [/ img ]

Using one of the photos in your gallery, here's what the code and URL looks like with added spaces so it will show the code instead of the photo:

[ img] http:// photos. thedieselstop. com/data/500/medium/IMG_2786. JPG[ /img]

Without those added spaces, you cannot see the code but instead you will see the photo. Like this:

What is "it"? I'm not very familiar with the VBulletin software used by TheDieselStop, so I though maybe "it" was some sort of posting aid. But I can't find any sort of posting aid that helps you add images to your post, so I don't know what "it" is.

I explained the manual method of posting an image. If there's an easier method, I'm all ears.

Ok, I'm trying to post a photo. I copied the text from above and insert my photo ID:
[ img] TheDieselStop.Com Photo Hosting - Can_you_see_the_heater_hose[ /img]
Then I remove spaces from the [img] tags:
[img] TheDieselStop.Com Photo Hosting - Can_you_see_the_heater_hose[/img]
and what happens?

Then I delete the space after the first img tag:

So what did I do wrong?

When I paste in the photo ID looks like:

Mike

Ok, maybe I see the error of my ways. I need to add the .jpg. Here goes:

Mike

I see you posted a number of pictures in the Photo posting area all you have to do is pull up the picture you want then right mouse on the image and select properties. Copy the URL shown in the properties window for that image.

Then as you are writing a post, select "Insert Image" from the menu icon above the text box where you are typing and it will display a window asking for you to "Please enter the URL of your image:". Then click on OK. Finish your post and then click on "Submit Reply"

Dick

Here goes:

Can you see the heater hose?

I swear I tried that, but maybe I used a different properties that had number for the photo ID. Well, this looks like it works.

But, why is the picture so small? Oh, I clicked on the avatar, I didn't open the picture first.

Try again:

I guess that works better.

Mike

...So what did I do wrong?
You copied the url of the page you were looking at, instead of the url in the properties window of that photo. Here's the URL you used, with addes space so it won't be converted by the editor:
http ://photos.thedieselstop.com/showphoto.php/photo/36975

Here's the correct URL from the properties popup, but with an added sspace so the URL won't turn into a clickable link

http: //photos.thedieselstop.com/data/500/medium/Can_you_see_the_heater_hose.jpg

Now, here's that same URL but without the added space:

http://photos.thedieselstop.com/data...eater_hose.jpg

Click on it and you'll see it's a clickable link to the same page.

If you surround that URL with [ img]...[/ img] without the spaces, then you'll see:
