No love for Dodge Ram truck owners?

Forum Administrators,

Hello from Texas - The Lone Star State. I am a new member and it is obvious that this forum is geared toward Ford diesel owners. Is there room for Dodge Ram owners? I currently drive a Dodge Ram 1500, I know boo for gasoline engines. I am currently looking to buy a '05 or '06 Ram 2500 with a 5.9 cummins turbo diesel. Can anyone persuade me to go with a Ford or Chevy?

I would buy a later model but I am leery of the new 6.7 cummins. I've heard nothing but bad things about the 6.7 and nothing but absolute praise for the 5.9. Any thoughts...

With the Dodge you will quickly notice that your just buyin a $30,000 Cummins engine. They cant build an auto tranny worth anything, their 4WD front ends could definatly use some help, and their interiors are soo plasticy. Oh and I personally could care less for the overall looks of the truck. Besides that their great trucks. I do like the Cummins engine but it seems that the packaging it comes in is worthless. Just my two cents.

since 2003, the trannies are great... but people love to hold on to the past I have found out.... yes the front end can use an upgrade, but thats what the dynatrac free spin kit is for... as for the interior, that is their only real fault.... but thats what happens when you have the krauts designing a "Work truck interior"... it will change here very soon once someone buys them out...
