Old driver new to diesels
Just a quick hello. I bought a 1986 Ford F-250 XL extended cab long bed with a 460/C6 brand new in '86. I did plenty of mods along the way. I was up to 8MPG on the flats and I don't think about it (mpg) going up hills. On our last outing I had just put in a comp cams 260 cam and Edelbrocks "accudrive" gear drive. It did good but as since the day I bought the truck it drank a lot of fuel. I chanced in to the truck I have now, 1994 F-350 dually, crew cab, long bed 7.3 IDI. this truck doesn't JUMP like the 460 did but you can feel the power. We are planning our first outing with the trailer next weekend. I could tell the differance this morning when all I did was move the trailer over and back for the wife to do some weed control. Looking forward to posting.
