Basically it's an aftermarket device that alters the trucks original parameters like when to lockup your torque converter, how much fuel to deliver when, and many other tunable settings for your truck. There are several different ways to get a 'tune'. Mine is the F5 which is a multi-position switch that is wired to your truck. There are many different tunes you can buy and have 'burned' onto the chip that is part of this device. Say one for towing heavy, another for just horsing around for fun, another for economy... you get the idea? There is a black box located just fwd of your e-brake pedal mount, that's what this wires to. You'll have to ask DPTuner for pricing, but I think it started around a couple hundred, plus each tune you want. I put it at the top of my mods list, get one you'll love it.

Thx blackout, that gives me a basic idea. As I mentioned before I have been away from the truck crowd for awhile now, been into Honda Goldwings for the past 4 or 5 years.
But I have a 02 crew cab dually that could use a little fix'in up so I am interested in all the goodie's that may have come out in the last five years os so.
I take it that in order to use the DP tuner you need additional gauges installed as with most other chips.
Anyway I will probly be asking more dumb questions to learn whatys new.
Thx again for the info
