Tuner cuts engine off and on!

Bought a DP a year or so back. 5 Pos selector for my 01 PSD Excursion. Love the Tuner and have had absolutely no problems up until now. I was cruising down the road all of a sudden the SES light flashes and the truck shuts off! I do a little tug here and there and all of a sudden the truck comes back to life like nothing happens.

This goes on for about a week and I finally figure it must be my Tuner cuz sometimes I have to wait for my THEFT light to go out before the truck will start. I wiggle the selector switch and the light goes out and I fire the truck up and off I go. I figure corrosion or something so I pulled the Tuner and checked all connections. So far, nothing noted on the Tuner but I noticed on the back of the selector the green wire solder was broke under the rubber cover. I re-soldered it but I am afraid I may burn up my PCM so I have not installed it. I don't dare mess with the Tuner but the wire on the selector is simple fix.

Also, it seems I have 10 selections now on the wheel but I only seem to remember 5 when I had it installed. Is there anyway I can check this out or should I send it back to DP and have them do the sweep on it to verify all is good?

Have you checked to see what codes you got from the SES light. It sounds like the CPS may be going bad.

Do you have the F5 Ex switch or a rotary knob style switch? If you have the F5 it has a lifetime manufactures warranty. Please send the cable back. We will send you another cable since that wire is broken.

Please give me a call today. 828-221-0076 Ext. 101

Thanks

Diane
