I have been working very hard these past few years and the time just flew by...
So I said (to myself) I will go diving this year... Well I did it ,,,I am now open water certified..
The adventure begins.. I will see if I can post some pics...

I got PADI certified when I was 15. Loved every minute of being under the water. Haven't been diving in several years now, responsibilities of life have taken up much of my free time, but I will get back into it when the kids are old enough to learn. Be careful, it is very addictive.

Been certified since 1979, and thanks the the US NAvy, I've had the opportunity to dive in the Philippines, Thailand, and Hawaii.

Now I hate cold water!

Well, where's the pictures
There is nothing like being out in the ocean in the middle of a school of fish.
I got certified when I was just a kid, whatever the minimum age was at the time. I think I was 13. I remember I painted a house to make the money to take the class. I'd been wanting to do it for a long time before that, just had to get old enough. Watching Lloyd Bridges in Sea Hunt every week... got me hooked

I haven't been in quite a while I plan on doing it soon though. My boy is almost getting old enough for lessons and I'd sure like to go with him. I'm going to have to sell my old steel tank though and get a nice little aluminum 50. My old back just isn't up to carting that big chunk of metal anymore. Heck I haven't had it tested in years, it might not even pass this time anyway.
Couldn't ever get my wife into it. One time in Florida went snorkeling and the first time she was swimming on top looking straight down with 30ft visibility, she freaked out and I had to drag her back in to shore. Felt like she was going to fall she said.

Awesome you will love it. I dove the Great Barrier Reef in Aus last year. Cabo and Cancun the year before. Remember just relax and enjoy your dive. My wife spends to much time fighting everything and has a hard time relaxing.

Congrats on your OW certification. I've been a Divemaster for a little while and can't get enough. I dive mostly cold water. I wish I lived in Ft. Lauderdale or cave country. I'd dive everyday.
