    Also: combustion gases in the fuel allows the internal piston in the injector to bottom out very quickly (like a brake pedal when there is lots of air in the system)and cause damage to the injector piston. When there is solid fuel under the piston,the piston moves at a slower rate as the fuel is discharged and doesn't bottom out.

    So - it may not start out as an internal injector issue, but it can cause the injrctor to fail

    Compression leak into the fuel can come from: Bad copper sealing washer, bad injector cup, insufficient torque on the injector hold down
