Hi, sorry it took so long to reply, I've been out of town.

I don't know much about the glider kit trucks, other than to say they seem like a good $$ deal. I was looking into a glider truck for a business project, but that project never worked out.

There are companies out there who can repower an existing truck, or they can order a new truck without an engine and repower it that way. All glider trucks have rebuilt engines, and you don't get many engine options.

I found all my info by doing web searches and looking at trucks on truckpaper(?).com.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Hey, Maryland dieselnick told me to contact you because you may be working with or have knowledge about glider kits. At some point (it may be a while!) I might look in that direction in order to find an end run around the whole emissions debacle.

I now have an F550 spec'd heavy (19,500gvw) to haul over the road and although it has proved itself in the first 100K miles for sure I'm always looking at alternate plans trying to stay ahead of the curve so to speak. It is as big a truck as I need short of having a decent sleeper however this whole def/dpf issue is something that I want to keep ahead of. Other plans may include dropping the def/dpf once it completely fails.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance,
    Phil
