    Hello chuckster57, my 1994 turbo IDI, 295K, is not turning over when i try to start all the time, only a single click or knock from starter solenoid on fender by passenger battery, Do you recommend any particular brand or model #, my sources are autozone and oreilly,

    HI Chuckster!

    I noticed you and I have the same truck. Can you help me?

    My ride: 1994 F350 7.3turbodiesel, 185kmiles, TS chip installed and from everything else Im aware of everything else is pretty much stock.I was wonder if you can help me troubleshoot a problem I have going on here.Im having a Intermittent Rough idle happening.Now, it does this rough idle when the engine is cold and warm,roll up to a stop light and it just starts shaking and running like $hit.If I step on the gas to about 900-1200rpm the rough idle goes away,I let off the gas its intermittent if itll run rough again or not.Sometimes it just wants to keep running rough and I have to keep my foot on the gas when I'm in stop and go traffic.Btw, I changed the fuel filter 500 miles ago.

    hello, I need to do head gaskets on my 1990 f250 7.3L idi. this is the first time i have torn apart one of these heads. i was wondering if you had any detailed advice and tips that i might need to know about. i work at a Volvo dealership so i have all the tools needed and equipment. i do not plan on removing the engine. we do have a cherry picker and ill use studs to put the heads on. can you let me know about any gaskets, seals, and O-rings i might need to replace that ive missed. i have the head gasket kit victor reinz hs5869, victor reinz head bolts, fel pro intake gasket kit, and a new motocraft thermostat. anything im missing that i don't know about. i read a post about bleeding the lifters before installation if you could maybe elaborate on that. i have a digital copy of the ford manual i plan on following but i prefer first had advice. thank you in advance

    Thanks Chuck, him and I both know very little on autos. Good suggestion though. Boy when I joined, he and I went at it bad. Now we are friends. Hell we email each other about our gardens! Shhh.
    He still does not understand how the Ipr works and is driven.LOL but I like the old narcissist.
    RGD messaged me twice after my last meltdown. I messaged him saying to stop threatening me. I wasn't going to take his action anymore and messaged Kevin how to unsubscribe from TDS before he threatened me so save it. He messaged me saying the same thing 8 hours later. I told him," I responded to you this morning, now I'm at the beach reading a repeat message leave me alone. I want nothing to do with TDS in its current twisted state. He messaged back I only use TDS as my soapbox, he was giving me an infraction and next time it will be for life. Now read the 6.7 45 mph shake thread. Guy goes completly off, well not quite as bad as I do but it does not get deleted. He needs to go.

    Hey check out " thread closed?" Thread before he sobers up substitutes the word "experts" for the word "doctors". Then I threw in a grease name so he is confused on lithium grease and Lithium bi-polar medicine, deletes thread and sends me packing for life, which I commented about such action against me in other thread.

    hey chuckster sorry to bother ya but I was reading some old threads about throwin a turbo on the idi, you mentioned punching holes in the valley pan, and chance you have any pics of that? no biggie if you dont thanks a bunch

    we decided to do the head gaskets and I was wondering if I needed to use any sealant on the h/g if so what? I will need silicone; I don't know which one RTV ? black or should I get the sensor safe blue? I did order the bolts (like you said don't chance it). would like everything here b4 gaskets get here. and thnx again!!

    I have a 1993 f350 dually idi diesel 7.3l. It's non turbo and I know a guy who has a 6.9 he's scrapping out with a turbo. I was wondering if you knew if the turbo would transfer over at all and if it did how easy would it to be to hook up?

    Hello I am the guy with the question on pulling with an axle ratio of 4.56 with a 5 speed. Does it matter if it is a diesel or gas also? I have the chance to pick up a parts truck with a same rear end but gas.

    Chuckster, everybody is sending me to you. I want to upgrade my exhaust but I'm told i need to change the turbo housing and outlet? They tell me you already did that, can you help Me out at all. Thanks

    Hello Mr. Chuckster57, I appreciate the photo of your fender-mounted solenoid to let me verify mine is correct. I have one other wiring issue. Isn't there supposed to be a black wire connected to the bottom of the water fuel filter assembly, where you can manually open a valve on the bottom to drain any accumulated water? I have a wiring harness connector located at the top front of the motor. Four wires run out of it and one of them is black. Would I be lucky enough to have guessed that would be the wire that connects to the bottom of my filter? During the time of a previous owner, someone cut this wire and left about 5" and stripped the end about 1/2" back and isn't connected to anything. thanks!     Hi you helped me with my alternater works great now and I didn't have to buy a new one getting about 13.8 volts Now I have another question I put a monatary switch to my glow plugs shouldn't I be able to check the voltage coming out of the relay when I turn the key on and do you know about how much the glow plugs need. Thanks Curt

    Hey chuckster truck does not want to start

    Replaced lift pump she will run
    But very hard to start already have new go and harness
    Please no sarchasm just asking for help. Was thinking the rubbed line that feeds the lift pump. Probably replace it next. Also worried it might be the starter
    Already done injectors and return lines

    hey Chuck, a lot of info on 4in ex. looks like a cold air intake has to go with it. how good is that afe stage two.
