10 Speed Transmission

I just saw an article that said Ford and GM have collaborated on a 10 speed transmission that will be shared by the 2017 Raptor and the 2017 Camaro ZL-1. It must be a pretty tough automatic to the handle 640 hp and 640 ft/lbs of torque that the Chevy puts out. Car and Driver road tested the new ZL-1 and they were pretty impressed with the transmission. Other vehicles in both manufacturers line ups are scheduled to get this in the near future. I can't help but wonder though, if the transmission has problems is it GM's or Ford's fault?!
