Question for Mechs on Shop Storage

Howdy all,

I'm in an architecture studio class for school and we are designing a polytechnic college to be built in rural Tanzania. The initial phase is to include the colleges of building science, agriculture, and auto mechanics. I'm currently trying to figure out what amount of space will have to be built for storage in this beginning phase. If any of you have experience working in a shop your input would be greatly appreciated.

1) Approx what percentage of total space in the shop is devoted to storage?
2) Is the storage inside the main bay or in a separate location?
3) What is needed to be kept in storage?
4) For a shop that has the capacity to work on 2-3 cars at a time with about 75 students learning/helping do you have an idea of how much sq ft should be devoted to storage?

Thanks for any and all help you can give.

keep in mind that with great poverty comes a great amount of theft of scrap metal, like engine parts, tools etc. All that sort of stuff will have to be stored under lock and key.
