Glow plug sensor

My 7.3 would not start today. I have a hand held Actron diagnostic device.
It showed the codes for the glow plugs and glow plug sensor have failed.
Would this cause the motor not to start?
Any one out there have any advice?

Thank You!

It might keep it from starting in cold weather. Should have minimal issues in August.

Could be an ICP sensor problem. Disconnect the sensor (located on the driver's side head behind the alternator) and try starting again. If the sensor has oil in the electrical connector, it's toast and needs to be replaced. If it's giving the PCM a biased signal that's still within normal range it could cause a no-start due to low HP oil pressure.

Like RT said, a glow plug issue shouldn't cause a no-start in August, even in Alaska.

Just a reminder for those living at high elevation that BARO also affects the need for a proper functioning GP system.
