Performance Mods Help

Hey Guys (and Gals). Long time 2002 X 7.3 L owner. Only 125000 miles on it. Recently had to sell Harley Davidson due to health issues and now I find myself with 10K to put into the X. Help me put together a $6,000-10,000 performance package.
Thanks,
DrrlB

Well Greetings DrrlB..
Welcome to the TDS Excursion forum...
Kinda nice to see some new blood around here and liven up this dyeing forum...
I would guess the first question would be...What are you going to be using your X for, to enhance
your performance mods...?????

I would look at a Dp tuner chip,a cold air intake ,a 4" exhaust system( I prefer the Silverline setup,I have a Mbrp on my new one and don't care for the tone.) And a good gauge package if you don't have one. Hellwig sway bar if you dont have a sway bar on the rear.

2002 Excursion limited 4x4 v-code springs,Bilstein shocks,Red Head steering box,Sct X-3 with DP-Tunes,Glow shift Gauges, Hellwig rear sway bar,Firestone air bags on the rear,Silverline Stainless 4" exhaust (SOLD)

2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Qc 4x4
[email protected] filter,Silverline 4" exhaust,Autometer gauges,Smarty,Raptor 150

2001 Ford Excursion Limited 4x4 Firestone airbags ,190 amp alternator ,mbrp 4" exhaust( My old Silverline sounded better) Dp Tuner F5 chip,Glowshift gauges ,Kenwood double din /nav radio,Ford AIS intake

Thanks Graupp,
Primarily looking to have fun, go fast and blow smoke. Otherwise, I will be using the truck as a secondary vehicle and for occasionally pulling a boat

Greetings again drrlb
Many of the things BlueOx1 said would help to do what you might want...
The weak link in the truck is it's transmission...
I've got 275,000/ mi on mine, and it's on it's 3rd transmission...
The 7.3 L. is a great engine, but you have to be careful how much power you put to the tranny...
Then you'd need a 6.0 tranny cooler and maybe even a better torque converter for the tranny...
And then you've got to have gauges to measure what's happening...
Once you start the modding , it has a tendency to snowball out of proportion...
The guys over at Ford Truck Enthusiasts [FTE] Excursion website have done HOARDS of modding on their various
Excursion models..
You can spend that $6-10,000 easily ...
The list is to long to list here....
