I realized the rockers on my '02 Ex were rusty when the running boards started sagging.
The truck looks good from 40 feet, but really the body is a goner. Shops weren't even interesting in quoting the work.
I have a '03 6.8 with a great body and a bad engine. I want to swap the bodies and I am prepared to swap some harnesses.
What I am wondering is, what can we do to protect the rockers? I think my donor was fleet vehicle as it has rubber instead of carpet and no plastic side cladding.
I am thinking of bedliner where the cladding would be, and on the backside of the rockers. Basically anywhere rocks can chip the paint and road spray keeps wet.
Any thought on my plan?
