The Track bar

There were some questions on the track bar being the right one after the V code modifications. I have read somewhere that the track bar is the same part number for the X and the F250 PU. There was also some question on the bracket that holds the track bar to the left front frame of the X being the same as that of the F250/350.
I went to the local dealer today who had a harley davidson edition '03 PU PSD 6.0 on the lot. I looked at the track bar and found that the track bar on the PU was heavier than the one on my '02 X. I did not measure its length but will in the morning. Also the bracket that holds the track bar to the frame was identical on both vehicles. It was approx 4" from track bar bolt center to frame. I will measure exact in the morning here too.
So for now I would say that no change is warranted here after the V code mod.

I picked up a set of V & b codes a few weeks ago, the guy also gave me the trackbar. These springs are off an 03 350, mine is an 04 Ex. I held up both trackbars and the are the exact same dimension hole to hole. The only difference that I can see is that the bar from the 350 is a "cast" bar and the one off my Ex is tubing with welded ends. Much lighter.

As long as the bar goes in without having to pull on the axel to get the bolts in its fine. If not ya need a adjustible one.

I have had my truck aligned at the dealer yesterday, and before I took it in for the work, I talked to the best alignment specialists at 2 dealerships, 2 tire shops, and 2 4X4 shops in the area. All of them are unanimous in their opinion that a adjustable trackbar or drop trackbar bracket is not necessary with only a 2 inch or less rise.

The truck is tracking straight as an arrow. On the highway, I can go handless for about 10 to 12 seconds before the drift takes the front wheels to the yellow line. Better than any vehicle I ever owned.

Interesting what you say about your trackbar being welded tubing. Mine is solid. Did they just grab whatever they had at the factory? Who knows.

Just measured the track bar on my '02 X. Bar length is 29.5" and thickness is .75". It appears solid with welded ends. The bracket from bar to frame measures 4" from frame to bolt center that bolts bar to bracket on the front side.
On the '03 Harley edition PSD the local dealer had on the lot, the bar length is 29.5" and 1" think solid with welded ends. The bracket measurement is identical to my X.

Just measured my track bar and its also 29.5in. but 1in. in diameter. It appears solid.

I looked at it quickly, it could be solid with welded ends and not tubing. The one off the 350 is a complete cast bar, no welds. I'm running a Fabtech adjustable bar with a Donahoe 4.5 lift. We'll see if it needs to be adjusted after my V & B code spring change this weekend.
