2011 f250 adding overload

Does anyone know where or does anyone here have a factory overload off a f350 for sale?

I wanna get a little better ride from the oem overload vs the timbrens i have now. Ive got the pads that mount to the frame for the spring but i need to figure out where to get the spring and the spacer and ubolts. Thanks in advance!

I thought about going that route with my 2011 F250. I was reminded that it would make the ride rougher without a load. I went with a set of Firestone Air pillows instead. Been working like a charm for almost three years now.

You'll also have to dis-assemble the spring pack and need a new/longer center bolt. I would install airbags. Its an easier job, they have no negative impact on empty ride quality and can be tailored to the load you are carrying. I've had them on my last three trucks and am a big proponent.

I had airlift bags on my 12 model. When the bags were inflated under load to keep the truck level, the ride was bouncy to the point it would throw my cooler full of ice up in the air. I went with a 1.5" rear blocks on my 13 and my ride is fine. Keep in mind my load is almost always the same, either my pack rat tool box or 4-horse gooseneck with tool box out.

Unless FMC has changed the design of their over-load springs, they're an additional leaf on top of the normal rear spring pack with separate "L" shaped perches they contact only when you put a heavy load on your truck.

I ordered out my old truck with them from the factory. I have to put 1200# in it for the frt end of the spring to touch and over 2000# for both ends to touch. With that much weight in my F250, it rides like a Lincoln Town Car. When empty.... not so much. They were less than $100/pair when I ordered the truck, have to check my window sticker for the exact price. Had them on my old '87 F150 too, along with the quad-chock frt end and frt & rear sway bars. It rode about as rough as my F250.

Yea ive heard horror stories from airbags but not against it. I have onboard air from a 5 gallon tank and hornblaster horn but didnt know if i could get air from that or what. All the kits i see are wireless controllers but i have to mount a new compressor and just didnt wanna get into all that.

Plus it stupid for me to have two air systems.

Id just really like to have the factory stuff ill be 2 inches shorter than a 350. So the overload will contact sooner and help with the fifth wheel sooner.


Ya i should have got a 350 but we didnt have this big of camper then lol.

I was hoping someone knew where to get the parts at ive searched oir local yards and nobody here has anything that new. Anyone wanting a 250 setup lol or taken off the overloads?

When I bought this 2011 F250 SD it was my first time getting into heavy towing. I did some reading and got some advice from guy's towing 5th wheels. I looked at a F350 SRW. I didn't want a dually. After comparing the 250 and the 350 there wasn't enough difference for the extra money. The guy didn't steer me wrong with the air pillows. I only air them up when I tow my 5th wheel RV. I have an air compressor in my RV front storage compartment. I have a bulk head fitting coming out next to my license plate. Takes about 3 min to pull the air hose and level the truck. When I unhook, I drop the air in the pillows back down to 10 PSI and she rides like the day I bought her. I've never had a leak or bouncing like the poster above. JMO

I bought Firestone Air Pillows. I got them from etrailer.com They came with all the hardware needed to install. Cost was around 350.00
