Because I was paying attention to the % I saw the cleaning exhaust message flash and then the DPF % started counting back down. After ~16 miles it got to 0% and I saw the fuel economy come back up and figured it had completed the regen. This is a nice little upgrade that didn't cost me anything so I am pretty pleased with it.
I did have a regen Saturday bring it down to 25%. All others have been 35% except one other to 30%

This is on a 2015

It would be nice if Ford had simply included a light or something to lets know if a regen is taking place. Oh, I know that the instantaneous fuel mileage will drop during a regen, but this is pretty much noticeable only on the highway & not so much if driving around town.

Just to update this as this thread was linked from another topic, this mod enables the manual regen option. Once the DPF reaches a certain soot level with the DPF% screen up and the engine at operating temperature and the truck idling in park it will give you an option to command a manual regen. It will ask if you want to start a regen, then it will want you to verify a couple of things (exhaust position ect.) then it will let you start a regen. I tried it a couple of days ago and once started it raises the engine to 2000 RPM and turns the cooling fan on. After it completed it brought the DPF percentage to 45%.

On some trucks it may allow manual regen. On my 2015, it will not give you the option to do manual regen.

Only if you paid for the option to do the regen. I think the option was priced at $250.

Larrgh, Do you know if this option can be programmed after the fact at a local dealer?

Not aware of it being available after the fact. I know one can purchase a monitoring device such as the Edge Insite CTS/CTS2 and perform a manual regen.

The % DPF or "ghost" gauge can now be programmed by Forscan on a PC connected to a Bluetooth adapter in the ODBII port. Look for it in another thread.

I used Forscan yesterday to add the DPF screen. While I was at it, I changed the rear tire pressures to 65, and added DTRL. Awesome!
You need a PC to do this on Windows like SkiSmuggs stated. New icon on left side of menu allows some changes.

Be careful not to mess too much with the "as-built" files, might cause a trip to the dealer!

You can download the as built files for your truck form Ford as a safety factor. Not sure ForSCAN allows you to save the original as built data.

Understood, not referring to Forscan....the website from Ford now charges for them. https://www.motorcraftservice.com/pr...rogramminginit
As far as I know, Forscan does not offer any of them. Up to us to get them, or do a backup.

Thanks!

Over and out.

I'm hoping that you folks can help me out here. I've enabled the DPF % through Forscan multiple times, only to have it revert back to disabled. I cant seem to get it to stick. When I click the "write" button it completes without an issue. After a key off on cycle, the option goes back to disabled. Ive also tried different Bluetooth and WiFi ODB adapters. I'm stumped. Any ideas?
