They are not common as in needing replaced on a set schedule but they do include a bearing that can fail and the rubber insert that provides the tension does weaken over time.
I realize this is an older post but i'm getting ready to replace my water pump so since I'm tearing everything off the front of the engine I'm going to replace the tensioner and idler pulleys. Are the two idler pulleys the same size/part #? I have a 2014 if that makes a difference.
Thank you! That's what I was looking for but didn't see one with the part numbers. This is all preventative, I put a lot of miles on the last 2 years and I just want to make sure I stay ahead of any potential problems.
