Mods/adds for lower maintenance

Years ago, 99 F350 Dually 7.3 I had a coolant filter, water separator, and extended interval remote filter system.

Apparently the coolant filter is no longer needed as the coolant doesn't break down like it did, but also reading that the 6.7 s very susceptible to water. So in that regard, is it recommended to add a water separator after the OEM system?

Also, is anyone doing extended oil changes with a remote filtration system?

I'm just going over possible adds if and when I get an F350 6.7.

I would highly recommend the water seperator on the fuel side. Extra insurance never hurts on the fuel side.

If you want extended oil intervals you can try a by-pass. I didn't mention in your other post, I know a guy if you want other choices in oils to help with extended intervals. He is NOT an Amzoil guy.

Sounds good, thanks for the link. I thought that site sounded familiar, so checked coolant filters, sure enough, that is where I got mine from.

Been a while, glad to see it is still there.

I run the Amsoil by-pass system and 5w-40 full synthetic oil. I go 10,000 miles between oil changes. I was running the water filter from www.dieselsite.com because I had one on my 2002 7.3. I removed about 15,000 miles ago. I also run the fuel pre-filter from Dieselsite, I drain it every oil change and replace the filter once a year. I've been waiting for Bob at Dieselsite to release the external automatic transmission. I pull a heavy toy hauler so I change my transmission oil at 60,000 mile intervals.
