SCT X4

I have this programmer for my old 2011 F250 now i have a 2016 F350 is there someone that will program this for the new truck or is it cheaper/better to just buy a new one? I am in no rush as the truck needs to get some miles on it first just wondering. Thank You.

You would need to ask the tuning company. Since you are going buy the tuning files, they can tell you if the device can be used. As long as you have returned the previous truck back to stock you should be good to go. Just need to pay for tuning files. Who did you use for the tuning on the 2011??

Since SCT files are considered "canned" tunes and you left the tuning installed you have some things to clear up.
1) You have to get the device "unmarried" from the previous truck at a cost of $150 last I knew.
2) Verify the device is capable of using custom tuning to support the new truck.

Your programmer is locked to the VIN of the truck you sold. This presents a problem not only to you but the buyer also. You should have included the tuner with the truck when you sold it. You can offer to sell the tuner the buyer if you don't want to give it to him/her since you sold an illegal tuned truck.

The tuner has the stock ECM/PCM parameters stored in it for the VIN of the truck you sold. You can retain the tunes you may have purchased but you should not retain the stock truck tune for the truck you sold. If he/she is your buddy and you overwrite the stock tune, someone is going to be highly pissed.

I suggest you give or offer them the tuner you used to tune the truck you sold and buy yourself a new tuner. Yes, it cuts down on your profit from the sale but is the right thing to do. I know if i was the buyer, i would be coming to your door want "my" tuner for the tuned truck you sold me or a refund of my money and I would return the truck to you..

JMHO and 2 cents.

So what you all are telling me is all these shops that tune these trucks out the door and don't give the tuner with the truck are being dicks? Also I see a lot of trucks in Texas (on ebay) being sold with DEf deleted already. Whats the difference if you live in a state where it doesn't matter like Florida? I have no problem giving tuner to guy i sold it to but you all are telling me there is no way to return truck back to stock without this tuner? The dealer can't just flash the truck? Just curious at this point.

The truck was only programmed to delete the DEF and no hardware was removed. I had owned the truck deleted since 2012 no problems and towing a 35ft 5th wheel with no problems. The person who bought it knows it is programmed and had no problems with that as i told him he didn't need at add DEF truck ran fine. I would figure the dealer would be able to return to stock cause the only mod was muffler and DEF delete. Again no other hardware was removed and i do have the DPF/SCR, Thank you all for your opinions.
