SCT files and i sold the truck with the program still in/on it all a have is the physical hand held programmer the same one that is on SCT site now.
Your programmer is locked to the VIN of the truck you sold. This presents a problem not only to you but the buyer also. You should have included the tuner with the truck when you sold it. You can offer to sell the tuner the buyer if you don't want to give it to him/her since you sold an illegal tuned truck.
The tuner has the stock ECM/PCM parameters stored in it for the VIN of the truck you sold. You can retain the tunes you may have purchased but you should not retain the stock truck tune for the truck you sold. If he/she is your buddy and you overwrite the stock tune, someone is going to be highly pissed.
I suggest you give or offer them the tuner you used to tune the truck you sold and buy yourself a new tuner. Yes, it cuts down on your profit from the sale but is the right thing to do. I know if i was the buyer, i would be coming to your door want "my" tuner for the tuned truck you sold me or a refund of my money and I would return the truck to you..
JMHO and 2 cents.
