Alright so I just wanted to drop an update.

The Roof Clearance Lights got installed on Monday night. I took me about 4 - 5 hours to tackle the job. I was in no rush and found it easier to drop the headliner from the front all the way to the rear (without actually removing the rear). I found this to not want to make the headliner crease under the sag.

The moon roof made the job 100% better. I cannot imagine having to do that install without. It allowed me easy access to remove and route the harness, measure 37 times and stand up to actually drill and knock out the holes needed.

The Lights came out great, pics to follow once I get a chance to get them. The harness was simple and straight forward. The lights were made easier via a small template I made and overlayed on my blue painters tape roof to verify the hole positions and measurements.

Just pick up my in bed tool box this afternoon, I dropped her to get powder coated as its old and the aluminum looked like ****. Nice a new now!

Any how, I want to thank everyone who contributed and provided some insight. I really appreciate it and it helped me a few times along the way.

I'll get busy on some pics ASAP.

I put roof clearance lights using the stock Ford parts on my 97 and 89, but on a new truck be sure you don't mess up the roof air bags or the air leak sensor. Either one will cause a possible no start safety shut down condition.

1997 F350CC, 4x4, PSD Tipper pro kleenex open filter. Roggen 6" lift kit with 26" ratflex 12" offset tires. Downpipe cut and welded to adapt 3" into a 12" outlet. 12" muffler cut and adapted to 2", then a special turbo manifold from a volkswagon modified to flank out to 3" to the tail pipe. Interior from a Corvair modified by cutting 6" off the padding. Snize and snide 32gallon aux tank mounted in rear seat, rear seat relocated to bed. Bed shortened to 4ft.

If I remember correctly, when I did my lights on my 2001, the lights came with a template that made it really easy and fast to do. It's been quite a few years though.

Air leak sensor? What is that? Seriously, I put cab lights on my '11 this past fall. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Just need to make sure and measure plenty of times to make sure you put them in the right place. Splicing the wires wasn't too bad either.....

x2.. Super easy aside from measuring to make sure the lights go where you want them. Moonroof made the job VERY easy...

I used the factory harness, snaking that up between the dash and body was not bad, plug and play on both ends. overall it was easy...

Not sure what "Air Leak" sensor they are talking about but the only other thing up there was the harness for the center map lights and the air bags. Disconnect battery and go at it...

Great job on both, the toolbox looks perfect in your truck. Oddly enough, cab lights are a must for me...just makes these trucks look like trucks :-)

After re-reading this thread, I wanted to add a few things. First, if your truck has no lights, it probably doesn't have a harness under the headliner for lights either, so don't plan on one being there. Second, in regards to the OEM kit previously mentioned, personally, I'd still prefer to hard wire or use the plug on the drivers side. As mentioned earlier, the OEM harness ties in some way with the sat. antenna and air bag harness. I didn't fully read the post, but regardless, I don't want to fool with the Air Bag harness. Third, measurements of 5" and 5.5" from the top of the windshield were mentioned for placement of the lights. If you have a moon roof, w/visor, you don't have that much space. I don't recall my exact measurements, but I centered them between the moon roof and windshield; I'm thinking that was only about 2" in front of and behind the light.

Have you tried applying 12vdc to the lights to make sure they work? Where are you picking up your voltage for the lights when they should be on?

I got them fixed sorry. Thanks for the help. Also I went through and got a factory harness as if they came with them and hard wired them to the harness. As far as the fix let’s just call it a moronic moment
