does it have an orange bar in the middle of the screen?......if so, the screen is paused, you need to press the "OK" button on the left side of the steering wheel.

No orange bar. Ok button does nothing. Arrows do nothing. It will tell me if a door is open, etc. but cannot click ok to clear it. Once door closed.. back to mileage screen.

Could be the switches or the steering column control (SCCM) module has failed. Do the right side switches and the horn function? If not then the sliding contact is suspect. I have also seen network faults cause the steering wheel functions fail... regardless, for your own sake I would have the vehicle scanned for codes IN ALL MODULES before poking around, disconnecting things or randomly throwing parts at it. Doing so will ultimately save time and money overall.

I hope your dealer is better at that than my local dealer!
