I have a 2012 F250 6.7. Has 35,800 miles on it. It is starting to be a hanger queen meaning always in the shop.
Sept 20 I got a exhaust warning with the following message you will be restricted to a speed of 50mph in 50 miles. I dumped it off at ford. Got the call and paid my bill. They said they flushed the exhaust reset codes good to go. 80 miles later (three wks) I get the same warning except this time it said you will be restricted to 50mph after you turn off the engine. Back to ford I go, a little heated and I was just informed that it is a knocking sensor. Reading here that's is for gas engines. Now I'm thinking ford is guessing because after Google research I was expecting ETG12 sensor for the exhaust (or one of the four sensors for that).
On this forum they mentioned NOx sensor with deals with the oxide of the def (?) While adding def, it did overflow. I would assume that the overflow does not go to the gas tank but the ground.
I will also be buying a code reading due to not trusting my dealer and that the ETG12 sensor is an easy fix and common problem. As I already had to replace my windshield wiper switch easy fix too.
I believe in ford trucks but starting to regret it. Any ideas out there!!!!
