Trailer Axle Bolt?

Relentless007 08-07-2017 08:41 AM

reminds me of the bolt on top of lawnmower deck that holds the blade and belt wheel.

A neighbor tossing it on your drive because he knew it would bug ya? ;-)

Looks like a bolt head with a hood prop/liftgate prop mount (the ball) or a mount for a ride height sensor rod. A little large to be a Zerk... the pictures are small so I can't zoom in to see much detail.

Just throw it away and within 2 days you will find where it is suppose to go.

jwbboat 08-08-2017 08:07 AM

the bolt is hollow, for greasing..zerk on one end, hole on the other...after more research,..this appears to be what is called a 'wet-bolt'...used on axles..it was nt buried in the dirt,..it was on top of the ground...pretty puzzling

That maybe a "wet bolt" but it is not big enough for spring hangers. Also too many threads on the bolt that would weaken it. Wet bolts have an actual zerk in the end, it is not made into the spring hanger bolt.

I am more inclined to agree with Ford Doctor. It is for some type of gas charged shock mount that holds the hood or trunk lid open.
