I've seen a few on ebay. But from the preview pages it looks like the same photos that are on the website Ks5shooter linked us to. Since cab sizes changed not surprised the wheel bases did as well.

Some articles have mentioned increased fuel capacity options. Man I want to know exactly what those are.

Looks like there are bigger fuel tank options based on what I was reading 3 different tank sizes.

That's what I want to know. What are the size options for a long bed. I'm not interested in larger options for a short bed. I'm hoping for something like at least a 60 gallon long bed option.

I was given what must be the other color brochure by my dealer. It's called "All-New 2017 Super Duty Preview Guide", is eight pages and has a blue 2017 F250 on the cover. It looks just like a the type of brochure that would be given to customers but the fine print make it clear its "intended for use by Ford dealership personnel only". It was the only one he had and knowing he'd be selling me a new 2017 as soon as they can be ordered he gave it to me.

Everything I've read on the 2017 from Ford says the 6 speed transmission will carry over. That was a disappointment. I was expecting a 7 or 8 speed transmission as a way of increasing the fleet MPG ratings that all manufacturers are tasked with improving in the coming years.

Having said that, I'm not sure the fully boxed frame with welded-through crossmembers is a step in the right direction. GM has had something similar since their HD lineup was created in 2001, and those frames left a lot to be desired, especially in terms of longevity in the Northeast. Maybe the steel Ford will use is of better quality, maybe the design lends itself to minimizing corrosion over time, I don't know, but the traditional frame rails in all the older Super Dutys have stood the test of time, I wonder how this new design will fare. The frame rails on my '03 look really good 13 years later, and if I needed to, I could replace cross members with moderate effort. I'm not sure you could ever replace the new style crossmembers.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see this new truck in the real world.

Fuel Tank Size Options...None, I believe

From all I've read on the 2017, both Ford writings and independent writers, the only options with respect to fuel tank size will be dictated by which wheel base version you buy...just as it currently is. What did you read that lead you to believe there would be three different options?

Below is what my friend Bobby Williams (Fleet Director Sunrise Ford Fontana Ca.) posted on the Southern Ca. Powerstrokes Website on the ordering forum last September. Read way down and it mentions new fuel tank options.

  1. Because owners depend on their truck for the most difficult jobs, we made it the toughest Super Duty ever(1), featuring:

    • First-in-class(2) high-strength, military-grade aluminum-alloy truck body and box for improved capability and improved dent- and ding-resistance over the previous generation
    • All-new fully boxed frame, built from 95 percent high-strength steel for a foundation thatís up to 24 times stiffer than the previous generation
    • Together, high-strength steel and high-strength aluminum alloy help reduce weight by up to 350 lbs. Ford is reinvesting this weight savings everywhere it counts to help give customers even more towing and hauling capability than ever before for Super Duty
    • Upgraded driveline and suspension components (axle, transfer case and driveshaft) to manage the increased torque, towing and payload
    • 12 million miles of Built Ford Tough testing so itís designed to meet or exceed our most demanding customersí requirements
    • All-new conventional hitch design allows for improved towing capability(1)

    The Smartest

    Technologies

The all-new Super Duty Pickup is designed with the latest available technologies, helping owners work harder while marking their work experience easier:

Way cool. I hope the options will give me a ton of range. I'm planning my dream 3 month trip to Alaska next year.

FordWilly above mentions that he is not interested in fuel capacity options for a short bed...which is fine...but that is EXACTLY the config that everyone is screaming for more capacity. The Crew Short bed crowd has been begging for a 40 or 50 since 1999.....lol. my riding mower holds more fuel than my truck......
