Anyone had problems from adding an exhaust system

I recently put on a 4 inch turbo back (3 1/2 down pipe) off road system (no cat) with no muffler on my 05 Excursion 4x4. I haven't drove it far (approx. 20 miles) since putting it on but something has already set the check engine light. It seems to lack on power in the mid range driving it normally and is getting worse mileage than with the stock exhaust. Before everyone goes and tells me the mileage loss is because you're driving it harder to hear you new exhaust that is NOT the case. I'm just wondering if anyone else has expierenced this or not and if so what needs to be done to solve the problem without putting the stock system back on??? Or could it just be by chance that something else has gone wrong that is non exhaust related to be causing this???

Hmm, I just put an MBRP turbo back no cat no muffler on about 300 miles ago and has been awesome. I havent gotten any better mileage.

Try disconnecting your battery and see if that resets your check engine light. Or borrow someones programmer to see what the problem is and/or clear the light. There is no censors or emissions hooked up to your exhaust. I would say it is something that has nothing to do with the install.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight, and I will shoulder more than my share of the task, whatever it may be. One hundred percent and then some.

Can't really tell much in just 20 Miles!!!!! Drive it more and do your calculations over the course of 2 or 3 tanks.
