Question Exhaust for sound

My stock 04 excursion 6.0 needs more whistle and grunt. I want to do a kitty back MBRP or if someone can recommends something else.(love that sound) I'm not sure what straight pipe is referencing when I read these chats. I'll be doing it myself. can some one point me in the right direction. Thanks

Straight pipe means no muffler, and likely no cat either.

I run full turbo back FloPro in 5" and like it. 4" downpipe feeding into a 5" pipe under the truck. No cat.

5" is total overkill if you aren't going to be making 500+HP.

'06 F250 4x4 - 5" Flo Pro exhaust, SB Filter intake, Accufab elbow, Edge Evolution (monitoring only), SCT w/ ID custom tune, FASS 195 pump, Gillette Diesel EGR cooler delete, Sinister Diesel coolant filter, ELC coolant, updated turbo drain tube/oil feed line/STC fitting/oil cooler, ARPs w/OEM HGs, Elite coolant lines, ITP RR fuel system, RCD 175/30 injectors, Powermax, BD CCV, FICM.com FICM w/ ID tune, Elite UP, BPD water pump - 13.069 @ 101.94

'02 WRX - Outback rear disc swap, EBC green pads, DBA pillar vane rotors, TXS UP/TBE/TMIC, Perrin LW crank pulley, PPG billet steel shift forks, ACT Streetlite flywheel & clutch, K&N filter, STi Group N motor/trans mounts, TiC/Kartboy rear diff mounts/subframe lock bolts/outrigger stiffeners, Kartboy SS & all shifter bushings, custom PDX tune for Cobb AP - went 14.1 on a terrible 60ft before most of these mods; shooting for 13.50s

turbo back mbrp or similar straight pipe. Forget the muffler they sound great without it. On a previously owned truck I had a 4 in turbo back silver line with a muffler and I now have a 4 in mbrp turbo back straight pipe. I think the only time the truck sounds louder with the straight pipe is when you are seriously getting your foot into it. I even think the straight pipe has less drone to it.

2004 Ford f350 6.0 4x4 king ranch 4" mbar turbo back, sct x4 with php tunes, running full synthetic in every part that takes oil. Arp head studs and egr delete. Coolant bypass and oil bypass.

I am looking for the same, My 05' here in Arizona requires a cat. so I gutted mine and currently just running one straight section after the cat. I am going to buy a cat back 4" when I can. Also going to change the turbo exhaust wheel to a kc turbo 10 blade W/360 rebuild kit and clean the girl up a little.

SEMPER FI!
