How about an update on tuners?
Have a 2005 F250SD with a fairly new Ford remanufactured engine. Would have to checvk but the engine probably has 20-30,000 miles on it. Local Ford Dealer did some work on the original engine, put it together wrong, and ruined the engine. Took a lawsuit but they paid $15,000 for a complete remanufactured engine from Ford. So, we are dealing with essentially a new engine.
I do not drive the vehicle much. But when I do, I am often hauling something. Live in the Ozark mountains and combining the hills with a load, and feel like I need some more power at least when towing. I only tow maybe once or twice a month; otherwise just casual driving in the hills.
I looking at the Edge juice with attitude CTS2 and the SCTX4 + Edge insight monitor. Both cost about the same.
There is realy very little information on both of these other than propoganda.
I read about transmission issues with the Edge, but these are all 10+ years old posts. Certainly if this was a real issue it has certainly been fixed by now. The Edge is certainly more friendly than the SCT.I am confused about the "Juice" what exactly is this. Their newer Evolution doesnt have this extra module and neither does the SCT. What is the advantage of this extra module?
As far as the SCT goes, which everyone says is the "Ford-Friendly" tuner, but again there is little information even on their website. What are custom tunes? Are these tunes you develop yourself? Why is the SCT recommended by most. Do I really need custom tunes?
Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
