Question Scan Guage II

Searching I didn't find any current info. here. I read about it awhile back, so....

If anyone is currently using one, what are your opinions on how it works, does what it's designed to do? Any issue's like reliability or slow to display readout's, etc.?

What other feature's/info. displayed have been useful for you? Also, where/how did u mount it? TIA

I'm running one and it's a great little tool. Great bang for the buck. I display engine oil temp, coolant temp, ICP, and mileage just for kicks.

The flexibility of the xgauge feature gives you access to a lot of the 6.0-specific data points.

Mine's stuck to my dashboard above the vent on the passenger side of the steering wheel.

I love it. EOT, ECT, Trans temp and boost all in one gauge with lots of other options. I mounted mine between the steering wheel and the middle vent on the dash so I can get a quick look while driving.

I have been using a scangaugeII for the last 3 years. I will never tow without it.
The gauge has all the displays required for engine protection. The temperatures and displays are all digital, so I use it more often then the truck gauges, Just added an EGT gauge because the 6.0 don't display it.

I found some diesel stations that are better then others so I can save up to 15% just around home.
The fuel flow can be calibrated so that I get the real flow with different setting of my Programmer.

I love my Scan Gauge also. A few months ago I loaned it to a friend so that he could watch his EOT vs ECT after his Bullet Proof oil cooler upgrade. He loved using it and it drove me crazy not having it for a few weeks.

One of the biggest benefits of the Scan Gauge compared to others is the compact size. I mounted mine underneath the rear view mirror. Made my own mount and bought a CAT 5 female to female connector. I coiled up the cord that came with the Scan Gauge under the dash and ran a seperate CAT 5 cable up the pillar and across the head liner. This makes it very easy to remove it in case I need to use it in one of my other vehicles.

I read that some users are reading the engine oil temp. Can some one please post the Scan Gauge II code for the 6.0 diesel.
Thanks.

Band Member,

To my knowledge you can not reprogram for different tire sizes with the Scan Gauge. All that it is capable of doing is reading info from the OBDII port. It can read just about any sensor and read/clear codes. You can not hook up external sensors for something like fuel pressure. In fact, there isn't anything out there that can read fuel pressure. I purchased a normal gauge for fuel pressure & EGT.

Thank you for the input, but the TXD has one space left for the last digit. With you setting it will not work. Will you please be so kind to check again.
My Ford is a 2006 6.0 psd.
Maybe that is different from your year. I will also ask Scangauge them self.
Thank you.
Regards
Rob

This is what worked in my truck. It is different than what was already posted, but it's worth a shot:

TXD: 07E0221310
RXF: 046205130610
RXD: 3010
MTH: 000901F4FFD8
NAM: EOT

For some reason there seems to be some trucks out there that are different than others, hence the different codes you input into the Scangauge. Of course, mine was different than most. Try this code to see if it works. A good way to verify is when the truck is cold. EOT & ECT should be within a degree or two.

Scan Gauge II for 06 F350 6.0

Thank you both for the diffrent codes but they do not work on my truck.
I asked the Scan Gauge company as well but they did not answer me yet.
They asked for one code on my gauge but not heard since.

I will probably install a digital oil temp gauge but need to find a place to hook it up with out drilling some where, at least that is what I prefer.

Any ideas for the 6.0 engine in an 6.0

Thanks.
