CMP Wierdness after replacing 1 month ago...?

After troubleshooting a "no start" which left me stranded, I replaced the CMP sensor about 1 month ago. Have driven the truck very little since, maybe 1 or 2x a week... Last week drove/towed several tons of landscaping stone and truck ran fine... Parked it and it sat until yesterday when I tried to drive it... "NO START"...! AE/Scangauge II showed FICM Sync = 0 and CMP/CKP Sync = 0 .... Here we go again...! Checked RPM while cranking and was getting RPM in AE/Scangauge II, but NOT on the TACH...
Decided to check CMP sensor and there was a bit of oily residue around the sensor so cleaned if off with Brake cleaner, tightened the 8mm bolt (a tad loose), pulled the connector and cleaned it with Brake cleaner and applied Dielectric Grease and re-installed... Voila, fired right up... Monitored FICM Sync =1 consistently now, but CMP/CKP Sync in AE is bouncing between 0 (green) and 1 (red), which does NOT BOOST MY CONFIDENCE IN THIS POS 6.0, IF IT IS EVEN POSSIBLE TO HAVE LESS THAN NO FAITH WHATSOEVER IN IT... I seem to recall the last time I replaced the CMP, the CMP/CKP Sync reading stayed steady at 1 while monitoring it with AE and Scangauge II... I'm assuming the CMP sensor or wiring is now suspect...?

Have you looked over the entire CMP harness for chafing? I would also look at the CKP harness also.

I wouldn't use brake cleaner on electronic components. IMO it could actually cause some problems. At least Ford identified that w/ the EGR valve solenoid.

Have you looked at the Exhaust Backpresdure Sensor? I started having no starts on one of my trucks about 18 months ago, ended up being the EBP. It can cause no FICM sync.

Was not aware that the EBP was in any way related to "FICM No sync". I have not checked it other than the short wiring pigtail to it which seems fine, but who know for sure. I have the latest flash on the PCM that supposedly infers EBP now, so wouldn't that eliminate the EBP Sensors signal altogether and not be a possible cause of this ongoing issue...?

The truck left me stranded again Sunday, 8/29. I replaced another CMP sensor due to CMP/CKP sync = 0, FICM Sync = 0, but it did not fix the issue. I towed it 7 miles down a long, very bumpy dirt road, and when we got it to the pavement, it fired up.

A short in ANY v-reference sensor can result in a "no sync". The EBP is the most common to fail after the early ICP. Even if it is inferred, a short in the sensor can cause issues w/ the 5V reference circuit.

A way to check is to disconnect as many v-reference sensors as you can (and still allow you to start), and then try starting:
EBP
ICP
Baro
ECT
EOT (but be aware that disconnecting this CAN cause issues w/ glow plug operation)
IAT
MAF
MAP

There are more, but this is a good start.

You can try them one-at-a-time, or all at once.

The issue seems to have been resolved by replacing the engine harness as it hasn't left me stranded since that weekend and the engine is running better than it has in years. Upon inspecting the old harness for signs of wear, there was a repair done by somebody (Ford...?) that looks suspect but other than that, no obvious signs of chafing, wear through, etc.
