ABS Brake System

Need to change front brake pads on 2000 F250 Superduty with ABS system. Is there anything special you have to do to when installing new pads and not damage the ABS brake system. On the old brake system I use to use a c-clamp to push in the caliper to install the new pads. Can you still do that with the ABS brake system. Thanks,

Re: ABS Brake System

I've heard recommendations that you open the bleeder valve on the calipers when you push the pistons back in. That way, the gunky fluid doesn't get pushed back into the system.

Makes sense to me. You'll want to bleed them a bit after you're done anyway and new fluid never hurts.
