Diesel leak (?)

New here, so please be patient.
I got a question, and I assume that some one has seen this issue in the past.
My F350 PSD '01, apparently is leaking diesel. During cold weather especially the smell of fresh diesel can be felt from 10-15 ft distance, and when raining or it is very humid the smell gets into cabin, big time. Not exhaust, but fresh diesel. One other odd thing is that at times, totally random, there are a few diesel drops under the truck, behind the front swaybar, not a lot though, but this just started happening. Just enough to drive me crazy. I though initially that it could be leaking from the turbo. But when I touched and smell it, is definitely diesel, not oil. The fuel filter and the casing, is not leaking (as far as I can see ). I could not find some one educated enough in these engines to tell me at least where to start looking at. Has any one experienced this issue ?
Thank you all in advance for the help !

You need to check the drain valve on the back of the fuel bowl know leak point. Also check the fuel lines the crush seal go bad on the ends over time one on front driver head and back passenger head and the passenger side line has a clamp to hold it just behind the intake spider that is a rub spot and cause a fuel leak. Not knowing your mileage on the truck I would say it is time for a fuel bowl rebuilt kit and fuel line crush seal replacement you can find everything on Dieselorings.com great prices.

No, I haven't had this happen to my truck. I would look above where you see the drops on the ground to see if you can see a leak in the fuel tank, fuel lines, or fuel bowl. I know that some people here have reported a leak in the fuel bowl, and if that is your problem, then there are kits available to repair that.

There are two fuel fittings on the top of each head at the very back you may want to check. When you said you had fuel on your turbo made me think of this, especially after you said the fuel filter housing was dry. I would have suspected the drain valve assembly at first. Caution - the fitting on the passenger's side is a bear to get at.

Thank you for all the good advice

I would like to thank every one for their advice on this matter. As I do not have all the tools, and knowledge really to dig into this I will have to get it to a shop...Does any one knows a good diesel shop in the Birmingham (AL) area ? There is no "stealership" in the area I could trust to get this job done.
Thank you again in advance.

Your description of the drips is exactly were the drain tube dumps for the bowl drain. So it is leaking most likely. Can be rebuilt without removing bowl. Its attached to back of the bowl with two screws. That said, see if the screws are loose. That makes it weep too. Mine came loose, got a rebuild kit and noticed before I took it off. Gave the screws a half turn and it hasn't leaked since. Want a rebuild kit? Cheap? You probably have the tools needed in the scrap drawer in the kitchen.
