Long normal speed crank, does not start

Greetings All

Having a starting issue. 99 7.3 with very extended cranking times till start. Past 4 days on the first start of the day it would take several attempts of 20 seconds or more of cranking to start. After the 1st start it would start normal the rest of the day. Yesterday it was every start. Today no start. During the past 4 days, I had unplugged the ICP sensor with no difference. Replaced ICP sensor with my spare sensor - no difference.
Changed the oil, verified oil in HPOP reservoir to approx 3/4" to the top. I live in South Florida, so glow plugs should not be an issue. Batteries are good, engine cranks fast. Can see RPMs and oil press during start attempt.

UPDATE - Truck fired up after a 15 sec crank time, Shut it off and it fired up normally.

Check the tin nut on the ipr make sure it is there and tight. Can you check icp pressure and ipr duty cycle with a scanner or a scangauge 2 wile cranking. How Many miles on the truck.

No scan tools to check pressures. 285,000 miles on truck. At work will look at IPR tonight. What scan tools work with truck? I have heard that not all work

Tinnerman nut is present and tight on IPR. Truck started 2 times normally and 2 times extended crank today. Looks like I'm off to Autozone for a scangauge ii

I purchased the Scanguage ii last night, while getting ready for set up, I found a previously installed Bully Dog tuner cable was still plugged into the OBD II port. I removed the old cable, installed the scanguage and went through the set up. The truck started right up with no extended crank. After the set up the truck started like it usually did. For now - no more issues. Now I have to read up on the scanguage and see what it can do. Thanks for responding, I appreciate the help. Any ideas why the cable still being plugged in would cause the issues?

With out the old cable plugs in to something I should not affect anything as far starting. I hope all your problems go away now.

Was there anything plugged into the other end of the cable? If not, it shouldn't have affected anything, but unplugging and correcting the issue may just have been a fluke.
Keep us posted on whether your long crank time comes back.
