P

I recently changed engine oil to synthetic and picked up 1.5 mpg city and 3 hwy. This data is by computer but something changed as a result of oil. Will hand calc it next fill up. Was getting ready to switch over to synthetic trans fluid for towing and wondering if that will contribute to better mpg. Always had 14-15 in city and no better than 17 hwy with 285 tires. Getting ready for gauges this month and maybe tunes later on.

I know my 2000 f350 drw 4x4 used to get 16 highway and over the years had dropped to 10. I had hoped that the new injectors and such that I just installed would get my mileage back but alas it would seem that I only get 11 now. I'm sure some of that is due to the 285 mudders I'm running now vs the stock 235/85 or even the first size swap to 265s which are the same height just wider than the 235s.... I have simply resigned myself to being happy with the truck and not worrying about the mileage.
As for tunes, I only have experience with gearhead and will continue to recommend them as my experience has been good. Gearhead is also local to me so that's an added value. Can't say anything about any of the others other than I know you want good custom tunes and not off the shelf canned tunes.
