HPOP Gauge

Just picked up the setup to check the HPOP pressure. Now the big question. Where do I hook it up? Found some plugs but that looks like the fuel rail, I could be wrong. A picture would be great.

Thanks,
Greg

Re: HPOP Gauge

There are plugs on top of the rail, the front one on the drivers side has the icp sensor in its place. No need to worry about fuel cause they are at the end of the heads and hard to get to.

Just pic one easy to get to, I think they are 5/8"

Here is a Pic

Icp sensor is the front one, you can see a plug about 6 inches down followed by line from oil pump on the 3rd.

Re: HPOP Gauge

Thanks for your help Rbob. I was right but just needed to be reassured.

Re: HPOP Gauge

What if you have the HX cross over line ? Does that eliminate a spot to install the hpop guage ? I priced the setup for a guage and I can have one built for $ 70.00 with quick connects from the motor to hose. Thanks, Rick

Re: HPOP Gauge

Finally had the time to hook up test gauge. Removed the ICP and connected there. When I unplugged the ICP it had oil in the connection. Should it be replaced? At idle I had 700psi. At WOT throttle (3000rpm) I only had 2200-2300si. What should it be? Do I need new HPOP? If so any recommendations?
Thanks Greg

Re: HPOP Gauge

my early 99 has 500 at idle and 2400 at WOT, so were pretty close. mine has 143,000 miles on it. I left the gauge hooked up to one of the plugs on the passenger side head and the hose/gauge tucked under the cowl. when I want to check pressure I put the hose/gauge up by the windsheild wipers so I can see it while driving
