Swapping to ZF6

Im in the process of swapping from 4r100 to zf6. One question i have is will the late 99 pcm work in the 2001? Should i send the 01 in to get reburned to manual or just throw in the late 99 and call it a day.

what is the model type of the late 99 pcm? and what is the type of the current pcm?

You can either keep the auto pcm and just jump the wires on the tranny connector or swap pcm's. a late model 99 pcm can work in an 01 but it might depend on the group type.

when I say group type...there is a DPC-XXX on the pcm. If for example, you have a DPC-422 auto pcm, I believe you would want/need a DPC-421 manual tranny pcm.

Trying the 99 pcm won't hurt anything and will let you know if there are any bugs, but without the DPC info, I can't tell you for sure. I personally would run the auto pcm before i sent a pcm to be reflashed, but it's your call.

Late reply truck has been up and running for months. Just want to jot down the details. Everything is working as it should but the 4x4 high range light and the cruise control. There is no clutch safety switch so that explains the cruise and the 4x4 light didn't work before the swap. The truck is running off the auto PCM with a TS chip burnt custom tunes from Jody at DP-Tuner and runs amazing defiantly worth the tunes feel way more power then the power hungry performance tunes. Next comes some up pipe gaskets and Riff raff wheel for the turbo. For anybody thats wondering everything was plug and play including the drive lines. Ive heard the drive lines will not interchange if you don't have a long bed 4 door. One small change to the wiring harness for the transmission, I used the manual truck harness but i cut a plug off the auto to splice some wires together to get it started also i can un-plug it and the truck will not start so it acts as a kill switch too so that's a plus. Message me if you want the details on that its a very small change. More changes to come.
