What leveling kit to fit 295's?

I've decided to go with 295/75-16 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my stock 02 F250 CC Lariat 4X4 PSD.

After speaking with the local off-road shops, most are recommending a 3.5 Fabtek hanger lift (~$1100 installed) Other options are a 2" skyjacker leaf spring and track bar for ~$425 installed or X-springs. Thinking of the skyjacker kit because of the price, but how much will this affect my ride?

Have looked into the X-spring route also (currently have V springs), but the local Ford dealerships don't seem to have a clue what I'm talking about.

Any advice???

Whatever you do, DO NOT get a Jack-IT type spring pack. ROUGH,ROUGH,ROUGH. Look at the edge mini spring pack. A little lift for a little money w/o changing the ride. The x springs are nice however for more than just lift. I paid 130 each plus u-bolts.

I ran 295s on stock rims with a 2" kit and they didn't rub any where. A kit like the Edge Mini-spring pack is the way to go. Its a 2" kit, doesnt effect the ride and you can use your stock shocks.

Re: What leveling kit to fit 295's?

OK seems like most people like the edge 2" mini spring kit. Forgive me for being nieve but, what exactly does this kit do and how difficult is it to install? Looks like $225 is the price on the internet shops which is in my range.

Re: What leveling kit to fit 295's?

It is basically a legal block for the front. It is a zero rate leaf spring pack.

Re: What leveling kit to fit 295's?

I threw an extra OEM leaf in the front of mine back in July of 98... Leveled it out perfectly. Been running 295's for 104,000 miles now with no trouble. Then again back in late 98, no one had ANYTHING available.

Sounds like the old "Back when we first got these trucks, we made our own lifts. Not like you kids now-a-days with your fancy spring hangers & air bags".

On an unrelated note, I've also been running a prototype 140 HP Superchip that I custom burned back in 98 too. After 6 faithful years I'm actually considering something different. Like an Edge or a TS???

Having a fresh motor that's quieter than it ever was new.... NOT PRICELESS, $3200! BUT WELL WORTH IT!
