What shock length???

I have a 2002 f250 that was lifted with blocks front and rear and it is time for new shocks. If I remember correctly the person I purchased the truck from said it was one of the easiest lifts he has done because all the suspension components lifted with the truck, So the truck still has all of its original equipment just different blocks. If this is true the original shock length is what I need to purchase. Don't really want to pull shocks off to get the measurements if this is true. Looking at it with my eyes it does look like the bottom shock mount is on the upper spring plate which makes me think what he said is true. Any thoughts????????
