‘02 F250, my cluster will randomly reset all gauges.
Gauges will go full sweep, then back to zero, then read normal levels.
Sometimes the needles will rapidly bounce back and forth several times.
Eventually, the needles will stay stuck, usually at the 75% mark.
The only way to reset it once it gets stuck is to pull the fuse for the cluster.
When it is stuck, all delayed features still work, radio, windows, auto-lights, etc, but they do not shut off when key is off and door is opened.
Again, the fuse has to be pulled to cut off the radio, lights, etc.
Is there a relay that controls the cluster?
It’s acting similar to a weak relay or a bad ground when it acts up, but I’m thinking pulling a fuse would not ‘fix’ a ground issue.
I’m thinking that pulling power may ‘reset’ a weak/stuck relay though.
Am I on the right path, or does anyone have any other suggestions?
I’ll try to video it next time it happens.
