Final Plea for help on common Problem

I have a 2002 F250 lariat crew cab 4x4

Door ajar light been on for 3 years, I cannot find any information on what my problem could be and yes I have read every forum thread I could find on this subject.

*I have done the WD-40, useless.

*I unhooked every door jam switch to simulate an open circuit, light still on
*I used jumper wires on every door jam wiring connector to simulate a closed circuit, light still on... This tells me its for sure not the door jam switches.

*About a year and a half ago I bought a new VSM and took it to get programmed but both dealerships spent hours on it and couldn't get it to work.

*A month ago I sent the Instrument Cluster to "circuit board medics" and they didnt find anything wrong with the door ajar circuit on the cluster but went ahead and fixed other common problems that hasnt yet arose.

*A couple weeks ago I took it to the dealership again to see if they could find the problem, tech said he could only get 2 door ajar PIDs to come up, mind you my truck has 4 door jam switches, They did a pinpoint test and he said following their manual the next step would be replace the VSM and retest. I declined this $1k charge since I know 2 dealerships in the past couldnt get a new VSM programmed to my truck.

This is my final plea to ask what the heck is wrong with my truck! Do I have the only one thats messed up beyond anyones knowledge of fixing. Please help if you can.

Thanks

Don't know if you found this one, if not, I hope it helps!

"I just went through the whole door ajar light problem. I took the truck to ford told them to program a new vsm. They came back and said that their scanner could not communicate with the computer. I was quite pissed. I then went to the junk yard and got a new instrument cluster from the same year. What do you know... all is fixed!! YAAA.
my symptoms where:
Door ajar light on
No auto headlights
Dome light stuck on
No accessory delay"

I was between the cluster and VSM what I thought the problem was, which is why I sent the cluster to circuit board medics and they said all was fine, and the dealer couldn't program the VSM. Id replace the cluster but I think you have to buy direct from the dealer and have them reprogram it or else it could end up with a salvage title from odometer disclosure stuff. I'll try swapping the one from my dads 02 and see if my problem goes away.

are you sure it is not the problematic switch that inserts into the latch/lock assembly? They service those separately.

Im positive its not the door jam switches as I isolated them by removing and disconnecting all of them at the same time and the light was still on.

I did go to my parents this weekend and I took the cluster out of dads 02 f250 SD and put it in mine and sure enough the light went away, Put my cluster in his truck and he had a door ajar light as well. Neither truck would start with the different cluster so I'm assuming it has to be programmed by a dealer?

So I guess for anyone who has this problem and the dealer cannot program a new VSM, the problem is actually the cluster, which has to be replaced since circuit board medics said it was fine, and it actually was not.

I had an 03 explorer that always had the door ajar light on and came to find out there were broken wires in the driver's door harness they wore out from continuously bending, otherwise on my 350 had the issue but was fixed by wd40 and a compressor to really get it we're it was needed

I was going to suggest what Deeds86 said. The wires in the driver’s door harness will wear out and break from continuous movement.

This guy on YouTube does a great detailed explanation on the Explorer, and goes into tracking down the broken wire, which should be the same for Super Duty.
