So your tach did not work at all and you installed a new cluster and the tach still does not work at all? The needle does not move?

But the truck starts and runs fine?

You posted a few months ago about doing a 2010 conversion into a 2002 including the dash.

Did your problems start after this conversion?

Did you complete the swap? Is the dash and cluster you now have installed from a 2002 or 2010?

On the 2002's, the tach is controlled by the instrument cluster, and the cluster receives the engine-speed information (RPM) from the PCM via "SCP" communications.

In the older trucks (up to 2000-ish) the tach was directly "driven" by a pulse-signal output from the PCM (a CPS "reflected" signal).

I don't have my manuals for the '02 here at home tonight. I'll read up tomorrow at work and report back...
