1996 7.3

Was working on my 96 7.3 and took the chip out and my friends didn’t know that u couldn’t plug it in while running killer the truck and now WTS light won’t come on is it a fuse or something else needing help fast

If there was power to the PCM then odds are you killed it.

96 F250 PS XLT 4X4 long box, 5sp,4.10, manual hubs,pyro+boost guages, Dark Toumaline, add a leaf, Dale's TYMAR, and HX hose, downpipe, coolant filter, Luk clutch

A rebuilt PCM.

Get the code off of the one in the truck now. The big difference is the transmission. The ones for a manual will not work in a truck with a automatic but the ones for a automatic can be used in a manual with some work. Also one from a 99+ year truck will not work without modifications and there is a difference between a truck that was sold in California vs one from the other 49 states

There are quite a few on Ebay and perhaps a local auto parts store might be able to order one for you.

Thanks man appreciate it I thought that’s what it was but didn’t know if it could a fuse or the glow plug relay

It is one of the problems with running a chip that is attached to the PCM.

It has been said to put the keys to the truck in you pocket before even looking at it. Others have gone as far as disconnecting the battery before installing or removing a chip out of the PCM.
