Unhappy check engine light when accelerating

I have a 1997 F-250 7.3L... every time I accelerate fast such as an entrance ramp to a highway my Check Engine light goes on. And then I then pull over and turn my truck off, and then back on and the Check Engine light turns off. this has happened countless times. My tanks are full, good oil pressure, and cool engine and overall, I have no idea what's happening.

Do you have a chip or programmer installed on the truck or any other performance enhancements?

My first guess would be a over boost code but to know for sure you need to get the code read. Even if the light is out there will be a code stored on the computer. As for who can read the code, you have to find someone or a shop that can read Ford codes. 99% of the code readers out there can't read them.

Fixing anything on this without knowing what codes are stored almost always is a waste of time and money.
