1997 F250HD 7.3 turbodiesel, where is the fuel switchover valve physically located and how does the system work?

If your talking about the switch for the front and rear fuel tanks -
The solenoid is mounted underneath - on the frame, drivers side - about where the bed and cab meet.
When you select a tank from the rocker switch on the dash (Front - or - Rear) the solenoid moves to change which tank the fuel comes from (and returns to)
The solenoid has 4 fuel lines connected to it.
1 "pair" go to the front tank (suction line and return line)
the other pair go to the rear tank.
The solenoid "closes" one pair - as it "opens" the other pair.

Actually, it has 6 lines: 2 for each tank, and 2 for the engine.

Oops, sorry - your right Steve83 - I forgot about the front 2 lines on the front side of the solenoid that go to the engine. I was thinking about the tanks only...
