GEM Module issue

I have a 97 with a gem module problem. It will randomly hang the over cab lights on. The thing that’s weird is that I can park the truck and the lights will be off and then I’ll come back to a dead battery and once I jump batteries to my truck the lights are stuck on. The only way to turn them off is to jam a stick under the dash and tap the Gem Module.

The GEM module is a solid state device, so your percussive maintenance is probably affecting something else, like a conventional relay that's sticking. I would check for that before trying to replace the GEM (if you can even find one).

The gem module would be real hard to find on a OBS truck, since they don't have one.

What are you tapping under the dash? I don't believe that there is even a relay under there that would control any lights.
